The Draw under the French language category was held recently on February 29, 2024, at 15:58:53 UTC. The number of invitations issued for this category is 2,500.

The lowest CRS score of the invited candidates  is 336, and the rank required to be invited to apply is 2,500 or above.

The point-based system ranks the candidates in the pool using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) calculator

If more than one candidate has the same lowest score, the CRS cut-off is based on the tie-breaking rule, i.e., the date and time of submitting the Express Entry profile.

Tie-breaking rule: January 18, 2024, at 09:15:46 UTC.

Second Draw in 2024:

Express Entry Draw 287 under the French language category is a second Draw of 2024. This Draw targets candidates with French language proficiency.

The lowest candidate's CRS score and invitations are less in this Draw compared to the previous Draw, where the CRS score was 365 and NOI was 7,000.

It is essential to note that the CRS score in this Draw is the lowest in the history of the Express Entry System.

Candidates with high CRS scores stand a good chance of receiving an invitation under this category.

Invitations to apply for the three programs managed by the Express Entry System, i.e., the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class, may be issued through this program, including the Provincial Nominee Program.

When the Express Entry round is held, the type of round is chosen, the number of invitations for candidates is determined, the highest-ranking candidate is identified from the pool, and then they are invited to apply for permanent residency.

Guidelines for the rounds of Invitations:

The instructions for each round of invitations are posted online at the time of the round, and the Express Entry System also uses this information to invite candidates from the Express Entry pool.

Instructions for rounds of invitations include:

  • Date and Time in which the round is held.
  • Eligibility of a candidate for a specific category. Applies only for the category-based rounds.
  • The number of candidates that will get an invitation to apply.
  • Specifies the type of round, i.e., general, program-specific, or category-based.
  • Specifies the included immigration program in the round. Applies to only program-specific rounds.

Different types of rounds of Invitations:

There are three different types of rounds of invitations.

  • General Category: In this category, the candidates with top ranking and who are eligible for one of the three programs that are managed by Express Entry System (the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class) are invited to the pool.
  • Program-Specific: Candidates who are eligible for any Express Entry programs are invited. If the round is held only for the Provincial Nominee Program, then candidates who are eligible for the PNP are invited.

Category-based: For this round of invitations, the Minister establishes a round to meet the economic benefit, and the candidates eligible for the category-based round are invited.
