What is the Possible Express Entry Next Draw Prediction?

The Canadian government frequently conducts an Express Entry Draw every two weeks in a month. According to the latest draw, the next draw may be around May 16, 2024, to May 17, 2024. IRCC determines the CRS score, frequency, and time of the draw, and the draw can vary depending on various factors.

However, the draw has become less predictable due to the advent of the new Category-based draw.

The government conducts rounds of invitations, inviting candidates from the Express Entry pool to apply for permanent residency.

The Express Entry process is the easiest, fastest, and most popular way to immigrate to Canada. It is an online application management system for three federal economic programs, i.e., the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates are selected based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The factors that the CRS calculator determines are age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors.

These factors help candidates in obtaining CRS scores out of a total of 1200 points.

The Express Entry Draw usually occurs at a specific interval of every two weeks. However, the occurrence of the draw may fluctuate since the commencement of the new Canada Category-based Occupation draw.

Express Entry Latest Draw of 2024:

Canada Express Entry released its latest Draw #295 on April 24, 2024, under French Language Category, with a total Number of Invitations (NOI) issued of 1,400.

The CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited was 410.

However, in the previous draw, the number of invitations were issued is 2,095 under the general category, and the candidate invited with the lowest CRS score was 529.

Determine Trends in Express Entry:

One of the major aspects of predicting the next Express Entry draw is to identify and analyze past draws. This will help in understanding the structure of Canadian immigration that determines the draw result and other factors.

Express Entry draw trends can vary among provinces. Analyzing the province's unevenness helps candidates make appropriate decisions about their immigration journey in Canada.

In the past month, the total number of invitations issued was 16,110, with the CRS score ranging from 336-535.

These aspects can provide an informed base for making a prediction about future draws.

There are many factors that may influence the outcome of the draw:

  • Changes in the Express Entry pool size
  • Modification to the CRS scoring system
  • Updates in the eligibility criteria for specific programs
  • The timing, frequency, size, and CRS cut-off of the draw
  • The Canadian economy and labor market needs
  • Immigration targets that are set in the Canada Immigration Level Plans for 2024-2026.

Canada Immigration Level Plans 2024-2026:

In this plan, the government of Canada prioritizes economic growth, supports family reunification, tackles the humanitarian crisis, and recognizes the rapid growth in immigration in recent years.

Families are important for new immigrants; they help with well-being and social adaptation. They also provide financial support; the spouse or partner can join the workforce and help supplement household income.

Canada aims to welcome 485,000 new permanent residents in 2024, 500,000 in 2025, and plateau at 500,000 in 2026.

The plan also targets 6% of French-speaking permanent residents outside Quebec in 2024, 7% in 2025, and 8% in 2026, after achieving a 4.4% French-speaking target in 2022.

Immigrants play a crucial role in the economy of a country and the labour market.

They also support Canada in its transition to a green (net-zero) and digital economy to ensure that the labor force gaps in critical sectors like health, trade, transportation, agriculture, and Science, Technology, Engineering,

and Mathematics (STEM) are not barriers to the success and expansion of Canadian businesses.

Guidelines for the Express Entry rounds of Invitations:

The instructions for each round of invitations are posted online at the time of the round, and the Express Entry System also uses this information to invite candidates from the Express Entry pool.

Instructions for rounds of invitations include:

  • Date and Time in which the round is held.
  • Eligibility of a candidate for a specific category. Applies only for the category-based rounds.
  • The number of candidates that will get an invitation to apply.
  • Specifies the type of round, i.e., general, program-specific, or category-based.
  • Specifies the included immigration program in the round. Applies to only program-specific rounds.

Different types of rounds of Invitations:

There are three different types of rounds of invitations.

General Category: In this category, the candidates with the highest ranking and who are eligible for one of the three programs managed by Express Entry System (the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class) are invited to the pool.

Program-Specific: Candidates who are eligible for any Express Entry programs are invited. If the round is held only for the Provincial Nominee Program, then candidates who are eligible for the PNP are invited.

Category-based: For this round of invitations, the Minister establishes a round to meet the economic benefit, and the candidates eligible for the category-based round are invited.

Category-based Draw for Express Entry:

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have decided occupation categories for selecting candidates from the Express Entry pool according to the needs of the labor market.

There are six categories through which an eligible Express Entry candidate may receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR:

  • Healthcare Occupations
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
  • Trades Occupations
  • Transport Occupations
  • Agriculture and agri-food occupations
  • French proficiency
