Latest Express Entry Draws: Immigration Pathway to Canada PR

The Express Entry System is the easiest and fastest way to immigrate to Canada. It was introduced in 2015 and is designed for aspiring immigrants to immigrate to Canada to fulfill the labour market needs and help the economy of Canada.

Canada offers various benefits to its permanent residents, such as a universal healthcare system, quality of education, better career prospects, and a standard of living.

These benefits are one of the primary reasons people immigrate to Canada. Many of them chose the Express Entry system to immigrate to Canada, which made it the most preferred immigration pathway.

The Express Entry Draws primarily focus on candidates’ CRS scores. Hence, before submitting your profile, make sure to go through your eligibility criteria and examine the ways to increase your CRS scores.

What is an Express Entry Draw?

Express Entry Latest Draws, also known as rounds of invitations, are conducted by the Canadian government regularly. The draws were held for approximately two weeks. However, it may vary since the introduction of new categories in the draw.

Through these Express Entry Draws, Canada invites candidates from the Express Entry pool from different categories to apply for Canada PR.

In the Express Entry pool, candidates are ranked based on their CRS scores, which are determined by their age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and others.

The CRS score cut-off may vary depending on various factors, such as

  • The number of candidates in the pool.
  • The immigration target set by the Canadian government.
  • The program or the specific chosen category.

These Latest Express Entry Draws target candidates who are likely to succeed and have enough potential to contribute to the Canadian economy. The CRS cut-off also determines the lowest-ranked candidate's score to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR.

After receiving an ITA, candidates are required to submit a complete official electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) within 60 days.

However, it is advisable for you to take note of the draw trends and stay updated on the Latest Express Entry Draws to ensure your eligibility to immigrate to Canada and for Canada PR.

Critical Elements of Latest Express Entry Draw

Express Entry is indeed the fastest pathway to immigrate to Canada, yet it is one of the most competitive ones. To increase your chances of immigrating to Canada, you need to make sure to submit a complete and ideal visa application.

Here are some of the key elements of the Latest Express Entry Draws to help you in preparing your visa application accordingly.

  • Draw Number:The number of the draw identifies the series of the current draw. It also helps to determine the frequency of the draws and draw trends.
  • Draw Date:This defines the timeline and specifies the date of the current draw. It also helps identify the upcoming opportunities for aspiring immigrants.
  • Draw Category: The Latest Express Entry Draws target candidates from various categories. This indicates the specific category in which the candidates are invited.
  • Tie-Breaking Rule:IRCC introduced the tie-breaking rule in the Latest Express Entry Draws for candidates with the same CRS score. According to this rule, candidates who submit their profile prior to the tie-breaking rule will receive an ITA for Canada PR.
  • CRS Cut-Off Score: The CRS cut-off score is issued in every draw, determining the score of the lowest-ranked candidate to receive an ITA. The CRS score is calculated using the Comprehensive Ranking System Calculator.
  • ITAs Issued:This determines the number of invitations issued in the specific draw from different categories to apply for Canada PR.
  • Candidate’s Update in the Express Entry Pool:This provides valuable insight into the candidates in the pool and their CRS scores. It also helps in predicting the future draws.

Express Entry Pool

The Express Entry Pool is also known as a waiting area where applicants’ profiles resides. Applicants wait for an invitation to apply for Canada PR along with working to improve their CRS scores to increase the chances of receiving an invitation.

Types of Express Entry Draws

Immigration, Refugee, Citizenship and Canada (IRCC) issued invitations through different draw categories throughout the year. There are three different types of Express Entry Draws.

General Rounds of Invitations:

In the general rounds of invitations, the candidates are invited who are:

  • Eligible for any one of the economic programs managed by the Express Entry System, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
  • And the top-ranking candidates who secure the highest CRS scores.

Program-Specific Rounds of Invitations:

In this category, candidates are invited through a specific program who are eligible for any one of the Express Entry programs. For example, candidates who are eligible for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) are invited through the PNP Draws.

Category-Based Rounds of Invitations:

The categories in the draws are selected based on the labour market and economic needs in Canada. Candidates who are potential enough to meet the categories' demand are invited.

Here are the categories:

  • French language proficiency.
  • Healthcare Occupations.
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Occupations.
  • Trade Occupations.
  • Transport Occupations.
  • Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations.

Categories Targeted this Year:

The categories are targeted based on the labour market and economic needs. In each draw, the category specifies the need for labour in the specific occupation.

The candidates are invited to fulfill these labour requirements and meet the economic needs in Canada.

These are the following categories targeted this year:

  • French language proficiency.
  • Healthcare Occupations.
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Occupations.
  • Trade Occupations.
  • Transport Occupations.
  • Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations.

CRS Scores in Express Entry Draws

The candidates receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR based on their CRS scores. The higher the CRS score, the more your chances of receiving an ITA.

However, the CRS score is essential for aspiring immigrants to immigrate to Canada.

If a candidate’s CRS score is relatively lower than the given CRS cut-off, then they should try to improve their scores.

There are many ways to improve your CRS scores, such as:

  • You can apply through a program-specific round of invitations, where you can get an additional 600 points if you receive a nomination from any province of Canada.
  • You can also apply through category-based rounds of invitation, where the CRS scores are likely to be lower.

The Express Entry Latest draws are opportunities for aspiring immigrants to immigrate to Canada and live a better life there.
