How To Calculate Your IELTS Score?

Your IELTS Band score is dependent on the average of four modules: Listening, Speaking, Writing, and Reading.

1. Listening: This module is divided into 4 sections comprising 10 questions each. The estimated time to complete this test is approximately 40 minutes. You have to listen to a pre-recorded audio that is played only once. This test is designed to evaluate your comprehension skills. You have to answer the question based on your understanding of the audio. There is no negative marking in this round.

2. Reading: The reading module is divided into 3 sections with 10 questions each. This test takes about 60 minutes to complete. You have to answer based on the passages provided to you.

3. Writing: There are 2 tasks assigned for this module. These tasks take 30 minutes each, which means a total of 60 minutes is accorded for this section. These tasks are marked on the basis of task completion, coherence, cohesion, vocabulary, and grammar.

4. Speaking: This module is divided into 3 parts: Introduction, Monologue, and Discussion.

4. Speaking: This module is divided into 3 parts: Introduction, Monologue, and Discussion.

5. Speaking: A certified examiner is assigned to interact with you. This introduction round is recorded and assessed accordingly. The second round is monologue delivery, evaluating your English-speaking skills, and the third part is comprised of a brief question-answer round. The examiner asks a few follow-up questions. 2. You need to understand the question pattern

3. You cannot learn a new language simply by reading once in a while, nor can you use the rote technique. You have to enhance your base. Improve your reading skills, read through various articles, improve your vocabulary and grammar, and try to have conversations in English.

4. Always set some time -apart for Proofreading: It is okay to make mistakes, and sometimes these mistakes go unnoticed. Proofreading will help you correct such mistakes.
