Big Update! Latest Express Entry Draw issued 2,985 ITAs

On May 30, 2024, IRCC invited 2,985 candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program category. This is the first Express Entry Draw of May. CRS calculator is a point-based calculator that ranks candidates under the Express Entry Pool. The minimum CRS score required is 676.
Previously, the Express Entry draws occurred on April 23, 2024 and April 24, 2024. The draw that occurred on April 23 issued a total of 2,095 invitations with a CRS of 529 under the General category.
On the other hand, the draw released on April 24, 2024 invited 1,400 candidates with a CRS of 410 under the French language proficiency.
What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is the fastest and most preferred pathway for obtaining Canada's Permanent Residency. Under the Express Entry system, candidates submit an online profile score based on education, work experience, language ability, and more.
There are three economic immigration programs under Express Entry:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Canadian Experience Class
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Category-based Selection Draws
IRCC has released category-based selection draws for the candidates with specific skills and experience. The six categories are as follows :-
- Healthcare occupations
- STEM professions (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)
- Proficiency in French language
- Trades occupations - carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
- Occupations Related to Transportation
- Agriculture and agri-food occupations
Different Types of Rounds of Invitation
General Category - The General category invites top candidates who are eligible in one of the three programs to participate in the Express Entry pool. The three Express Entry programs are Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class.
Program-Specific Category - In this category, candidates with specific Express Entry programs are invited to apply. For example- IRCC often has specific draws for Provincial Nominee Program.
Category-Based Selection - The candidate has to meet certain economic benefits and skills to be eligible for this type of invitation.
