Canada invites 2,095 Candidates in the Latest Express Entry Draw

On April 23, 2024, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 2,095 candidates under the General category. This is the third Express Entry Draw of April. The minimum CRS score required for this latest draw is 529.
Previously, the General draw occurred on April 10, 2024. The draw that occurred on April 10 issued a total of 1,280 invitations with a CRS of 549.
The Express Entry Draw generally occurs 3-4 times a month. The next Express Entry Draw is expected to occur between May 1, 2024, to May 5, 2024.

What is Express Entry?

Different Types of Rounds of Invitation
- General Category - This category invites top candidates who are eligible in one of the three programs to participate in the Express Entry pool. The three Express Entry programs are Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class.
- Program-Specific Category - In this category, candidates with specific Express Entry programs are invited to apply. For example- IRCC often has specific draws for Provincial Nominee Program.
- Category-Based - For this, the candidate has to meet certain economic benefits to be eligible for this type of invitation.
Category-based Selection
IRCC has introduced six categories under the Category-based selection. These categories target specific human capital attributes. The six categories are undermentioned-
- Healthcare occupations
- STEM professions (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)
- Proficiency in French language
- Trades occupations - carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
- Occupations Related to Transportation
- Agriculture and agri-food occupations
