On March 21, 2025, Manitoba held another Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw, issuing a total of 108 invitations to candidates under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

The draw was conducted under two major categories, Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas, focusing on specific eligibility criteria for both.

Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba category, a total of 101 candidates were invited to apply. The primary requirement for these candidates was to have completed post-secondary education in Manitoba, either by themselves or through their spouses.

To be eligible for this stream, candidates must be able to provide documentation, such as a diploma and transcript, verifying their education credentials.

The lowest-ranking candidate invited to this stream had a CRS score of 844.

The Skilled Worker Overseas category invited 7 candidates, all of whom were directly invited by the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative.

The lowest-ranking candidate in this category had a score of 705, which is somewhat lower than the minimum score for the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream.

This category is intended for individuals who were recruited through specific initiatives aimed at addressing labor shortages in the province.

Additionally, 23 of the 108 invitations were issued to candidates who had declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. This shows Manitoba's ongoing connection to the Express Entry system, which allows skilled workers to apply through both federal and provincial channels simultaneously.

Keynotes:

  • Candidates in regulated occupations must be fully licensed to work in Manitoba. Failure to provide licensing proof or valid language test numbers may result in application rejection, even if their score exceeds the lowest-ranked candidate.
  •  For the Completed Study in Manitoba pathway, applicants must provide proof of post-secondary education completed in Manitoba. If unable to provide the necessary documentation, it's advised to decline the Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA).
  • The March 2025 draw emphasizes attracting skilled workers with connections to Manitoba through education or strategic recruitment. Applicants should ensure their profiles are accurate and complete for future draws.
