The PEI immigration pathways depend on Federal immigration allocations, application volumes, and provincial labour market needs.
There is one Enhanced Stream, i.e., Express Entry, and two Base Streams, i.e., Labour Impact and Business Impact category.
Enhanced Streams are linked to the Express Entry system, Canada’s fastest point-based immigration pathway. Express Entry manages three Federal programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
The point-based system ranks candidates based on the higher CRS scores and invites them to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
Upon receiving a nomination under the PEI PNP, the candidate will get an additional 600 points, which increases their chances of obtaining Canada PR.
Based Streams are not linked with the
Express Entry system. Therefore, candidates who are seeking nomination from the PEI PNP are required to apply directly to the province.
