On 9 October 2025, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held its latest Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #255, inviting skilled workers in targeted occupations to apply for provincial nomination.
This draw focused on candidates with current employment in Manitoba and those participating in strategic recruitment initiatives.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway, 583 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to candidates working in home support, caregiving, and related health occupations. These invitations focused on workers already contributing to Manitoba’s important health sector.
The Skilled Worker Stream also included candidates from the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway who were invited through MPNP’s strategic recruitment programs. In this group, 279 LAAs were issued, broken down as follows:
Employer Services: 45
Francophone Community: 43
Regional Communities: 8
Ethnocultural Communities: 3
Temporary Public Policy for Work Permits (TPP): 180
Among the total 862 Letters of Advice to Apply issued in Draw #255, 203 were granted to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, allowing them to pursue faster processing through Canada’s federal immigration system.
This draw underscores Manitoba’s ongoing efforts to meet labor market needs while supporting diverse communities, particularly in the health and caregiving sectors. Candidates with targeted skills and Manitoba work experience are increasingly prioritized, reflecting the province’s strategic approach to economic growth and population retention.
The MPNP continues to attract skilled workers from both within and outside Canada, providing pathways for permanent residence and contributing to Manitoba’s workforce sustainability.
In 2026, Manitoba is expected to see rising demand for healthcare workers, caregivers, and skilled professionals due to an aging population. The province will also seek talent in technology, construction, and education. Strategic recruitment programs will continue to provide targeted pathways for in-demand skills.
Skilled workers can expect stable jobs, competitive salaries, and career growth, especially in health and community services. Programs like Employer Services, Francophone and Regional initiatives, and Temporary Public Policy will support newcomers to thrive both professionally and personally.
