Great news! Canada invites 763 Candidates in its Express Entry Draw

Canada has released its latest Express Entry Draw on 13 August 2024 under the PNP category. The total number of invitations issued are 763 and the CRS cut-off is 690.

In the previous draw under the same category, the number of invitations were 964 and the minimum score required was 686. 

Express Entry  

Express Entry is the primary pathway for Canada's Permanent Residency. Candidates submit an online profile score based on education, work experience, language ability, and more.

There are three economic immigration programs in the Express Entry system:- 

• Federal Skilled Worker Program 
• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Trades Program

Different Types of Rounds of Invitation 

General Category - This category invites top candidates who are eligible in one of the three programs to participate in the Express Entry pool. The three Express Entry programs are Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class. 

Program-Specific Category -  In this category, candidates with specific Express Entry programs are invited to apply. For example- IRCC often has specific draws for Provincial Nominee Program. 
 
Category-Based - For this, the candidate has to meet certain economic benefits to be eligible for this type of invitation. 

Category-based Selection 
 
IRCC has introduced six categories under the Category-based selection. These categories target specific human capital attributes. The six categories are undermentioned- 

• Healthcare occupations
• STEM professions (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)
• Proficiency in French language
• Trades occupations - carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
• Occupations Related to Transportation
• Agriculture and agri-food occupations
