Express Entry Draw #292 : IRCC invites 1,280 Candidates For Canada PR

On April 10, 2024, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 1,280 candidates under the General category. This is the first Express Entry Draw of April. 

CRS calculator is a point-based calculator that ranks candidates under the Express Entry Pool. The minimum CRS score required for the latest draw is 549. 

Previously, the General draws occurred on March 12 and March 25, 2024. The draw that occurred on March 12 issued a total of 2,850 invitations with a CRS of 525. On the other hand, the draw released on March 25, invited 1,980 candidates with a CRS of 524.

Express Entry  

Express Entry is the fastest and most preferred pathway for obtaining Canada's Permanent Residency. 
There are three economic immigration programs under Express Entry:

• Federal Skilled Worker Program 
• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Trades Program

Under Express Entry, candidates submit an online profile score based on education, work experience, language ability, and more.

Different Types of Rounds of Invitation 

• General Category - This category invites top candidates who are eligible in one of the three programs to participate in the Express Entry pool. The three Express Entry programs are Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class. 
• Program-Specific Category -  In this category, candidates with specific Express Entry programs are invited to apply. For example- IRCC often has specific draws for Provincial Nominee Program. 
• Category-Based - For this, the candidate has to meet certain economic benefits to be eligible for this type of invitation.
