On April 14, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a new Express Entry draw under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), issuing 825 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required in this round was 764.
Candidates needed a ranking of 825 or higher in the Express Entry pool to receive an invitation.
The Provincial Nominee Program allows Canadian provinces and territories (except Quebec and Nunavut) to nominate foreign nationals who are interested in settling in a specific region of Canada.
The PNP is designed to address regional labor shortages and support local economic growth by targeting candidates who have the skills and experience that are in demand.
Provinces may nominate candidates under various streams, including those focused on:
Popular streams include Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream, British Columbia’s Tech Pilot, and Alberta’s Accelerated Tech Pathway, among others.
Once nominated, candidates receive 600 additional CRS points, virtually guaranteeing an invitation to apply in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
Each province operates its own streams within the PNP, often targeting skilled workers, international graduates, or in-demand occupations.
