Canada announces increase in Minimum Wage from Oct 2024

The government of Canada always ensures that the workers are getting paid satisfactorily with the aim that no one has to struggle to get day-to-day necessities. To overcome this, the government has already announced an increase in the Minimum Wage in Canada from Oct 2024.

The Minimum Wage is essential for the Canadian economy. It is the lowest legal wage that employees are getting paid by their employers. If the price of consumers increases, then the wages of workers will be primarily to fulfill the basic needs of life.

The current minimum wage in Canada, 2024, is approximately $16.50 on an hourly basis, which is expected to be raised occasionally. The government of Nunavut has already taken a step to increase the minimum wage from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour on January 1, 2024, and secure the title of the highest minimum wage in Canada.

The current minimum wage is $16.65 per hour, and the expected increase in wage is scheduled for April 1, 2024. The predicted new minimum wage is based on an average CPI of 3.1% over 12 months, approximately $17.17 per hour.
