Big Update: Scheme Visa Ballot Open For India Young Professionals From February 20, 2024

The UK Home Office has announced a new ballot for the Indian Young Professionals Scheme. The draw is scheduled for February 20, 2024, and ends on February 22, 2024. Applicants must be between 18 to 30 years of age and those who qualify are granted a 24-month visa to live, work, and study in the United Kingdom.

An Indian national with a bachelor's degree can cast ballots from 2:30 pm on February 20, 2024, till 2:30 pm on February 22, 2024. The criteria also include having funds or savings of at least GBP 2,530 and no dependent children under 18. 

After being chosen for the scheme, applicants have ninety days to submit their applications, pay the necessary fees (which include the immigration health premium), and submit their biometrics. The waiting period is six months once the visa application has been submitted. 

Three thousand visa slots are allocated for the India Young Professionals Scheme in 2024. Most of these slots will be available in February 2024 and the rest of the slots in July 2024. 

Criteria for application for a Visa

To qualify for the Visa, you have to:

  • Be a citizen or national of India between 18 and 30. 

  • be at least 18 when you intend to go to the UK.

  • Have a bachelor's degree-level qualification (Level 6, 7, or 8 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework).

  • Have savings of £2,530 to sustain oneself in the UK

  • Cannot reside with any children if under the age of eighteen

Steps to apply for a Visa- 

Step 1: Enter the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot if the candidate is eligible to apply. 

Step 2: The person will receive an invitation to apply for the Visa if the ballot is successful.

Step 3: Collect the necessary documents. 

Step 4: Apply for an India Young Professionals Scheme visa.

The documents that are required for the application process- 

The following documents are required for - 

  • proof of your identity and nationality, such as a valid passport

  • proof that one has at least £2,530 in the bank account

  • evidence of the credentials, such as bank statements

  • If one resides in India or any other country on the list, the tuberculosis (TB) test results, a police report, or a clearance certificate from India

  • One must have a blank paper in the passport
