Alberta Latest PNP Draw Invites 447 Skilled Workers

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted its latest PNP Draw and invited potential candidates to apply for Canada PR.

This draw was held on November 27, 2024, and issued a total number of 447 invitations.

However, the minimum score of the invited candidates is 71. 

This draw was held under the Alberta Opportunity Stream. The selection parameters of the selected candidates are:

• Candidate must have a valid Post-Graduation work permit.
• The work permit expiry date should be February 25, 2024, or later.  
• Completed education in Alberta.
• Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de competence linguistique canadience (NCLC) 4 or higher.
• Work experience of 6 months or more in Alberta.
• Job Offer of full-time employment in Alberta.
• Job Offer with an Alberta employer that is not:

1. An ineligible occupation under the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
2. An occupation in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) broad occupational categories of ‘1-Business, Finance, and Administration Occupations’ and ‘6-Sales and Service Occupations.’ 

There are many streams available for skilled workers and entrepreneurs to choose from if you plan to apply under AAIP: 

Streams for Skilled Workers:

• Tourism and Hospitality stream
• Alberta Express Entry stream
• Alberta Opportunity stream
• Rural Renewal stream 

Streams for Entreprenuers:

• Rural Entrepreneurs stream
• Graduate Entrepreneurs stream
• Farm stream
• Foreign Graduate Entrepreneurs stream 

The AAIP selects candidates to apply for permanent residency in Alberta. If you have received a nomination from the province, you must submit a permanent residency application to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). You can apply for Canada PR with your spouse or partner and dependent children. 

The province of Alberta PNP will issue an Express Entry invitation based on the following:

• Family Connection and Occupation in Demand
• Dedicated Healthcare Pathway
• Accelerated Tech Pathway
• Priority sectors- Agriculture, Tourism, Construction, and Hospitality

AAIP conducts its draws usually on a weekly basis. The size and frequency of the draw depend on the AAIP’s application backlog. 

The processing time of the AAIP application is determined by many following factors: 

• The completeness, eligibility, and valid information in the application 
• Quantity or volume of the application received 
• Date when the application was received 
• Labour market, strategic priorities, and economic development needs 
• The remaining number of nomination certificates for the year
