Ontario PNP Draw Updates: Know the Latest and Prediction of the Next Draw

Canada’s most commercial province, Ontario, offers many pathways to immigrants seeking to study, work, and apply for Canada PR.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) was launched to address the labour shortage and is one of the major contributors to Canadian economic immigration.

The program regularly looks for immigrants in the Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship and Canada’s Express Entry pool to find eligible candidates who may meet the criteria for any of Ontario’s Express Entry streams.

If you are identified in the pool, you will receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) in your Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) online profile.

It is essential to note that receiving a notification of interest does not mean you qualify for one of the streams.

After receiving a notification of interest (NOI), a candidate may submit an online application within 45 days of receiving a notification to the OINP under which the notification of interest is issued if you qualify under any OINP Express Entry streams.

The OINP issues ITAs to eligible candidates on a weekly basis, with some exceptions.

Ontario needs skilled professionals in various industries and opens high-demand jobs to sustain its economy.

Prediction of the next draw

Ontario holds its draw weekly; the next draw determines the frequency, size, date, and labour needs.

The three streams under which the draw is held are:

  • Human Capital Priorities Stream: Invitations are issued frequently under this stream. According to the latest draw, the next draw is expected to be around March 13 to March 15, 2024.
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream: This stream has issued fewer invitations than other streams. The latest draw was held on January 18, 2024.
  • Skilled Trades Stream: Invitations under this stream are issued based on monthly pauses. The latest draw was held on March 1, 2024, and the expected next draw will be in the month of April to June 2024.

Different Streams to immigrate:

If you plan on immigrating to Ontario, these are the streams you can choose:

  • OINP Express Entry stream:
  • Human Capital Priorities stream: It is an immigration stream that allows foreign workers with work experience, language abilities, and education to apply to live or work permanently in the province.
  • French-speaking Skilled Worker stream: Under this stream, French-speaking skilled workers are invited from the Express Entry pool who demonstrate language proficiency in both English and French and can contribute to the workforce as skilled workers.
  • Skilled Trades stream: This stream allows foreign nationals with work experience in eligible skilled trades in Ontario to apply to live or work permanently in the province.

  • Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program:
  • Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream: This stream allows foreign workers with job offers in a skilled occupation to apply for permanent residency.
  • The job offer must be in a skilled occupation in Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) category 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
  • This stream is open for workers outside as well as from Canada.
  • Employer Job Offer: International Student stream: This stream allows students with a job offer in a skilled occupation the opportunity to apply for permanent residency.
  • The job offer must be from the TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
  • Employer Job Offer: In-demand Skills stream: Under this stream, foreign workers with a job offer in specific in-demand occupations like agriculture, construction, and other selected occupations are allowed to apply for permanent residency.
  • Masters Graduate stream: This stream allows international graduates with an Ontario master's degree to live or work permanently in the province.
  • PhD Graduate stream: This stream allows international graduates with an Ontario Ph.D. degree to apply for permanent residency.
  • Entrepreneur stream: This stream is for experienced business owners with a robust economic base who want to live or work permanently in the province and wish to establish or purchase any business. They can apply through this stream.

Some of the streams under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program are Base streams and Enhanced streams.

Enhanced streams are those that are aligned with the Express Entry Program. However, Base streams are not aligned with the Express Entry Program.

Candidates who immigrate under the Enhanced stream are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). If they secure 600 points from the PNP calculator, they are highly likely to be invited to apply for Canada PR.

Candidates who want to immigrate under the Base stream are required to apply directly to the Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

If you plan to immigrate to Canada, getting an invitation from the province increases the chance of your application being accepted.
