What are the criteria for the Alberta PNP Draw?

The Alberta Province manages the Atlantic Immigrant Nominee Program, which is now known as the Alberta Provencial Nominee Program. It issues periodic Notification of Interest letters throughout the year.

In this program, individuals with relevant academic and employment experience may receive an Alberta nomination.

Alberta is the only province where applying for Canadian permanent residency is easy for the reason that it does not have a specific job occupation list.

There are many streams under the Alberta Advantage Nominee Program for you to apply. The streams are given below:

• Alberta Opportunity Stream: Candidates who are qualified, living and working in Alberta, and have a job offer from an Alberta employer can apply for an Alberta Advantage Nominee Program.


• Alberta Express Entry Stream: Qualified candidates with an Express Entry profile may be invited by AAIP to apply for nomination.


• Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway: This pathway provides quick processing to foreign workers who have a job offer or are currently working for an Alberta employer in tech-based industries.


• Rural Renewal Stream: Rural communities can apply to this stream with the intent to attract and recruit newcomers and fill the labour gap in the market.


• Alberta Farm Stream: Farmers who are experienced and are planning to buy or start a new farm can apply through this stream.


• Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream: International graduates from Alberta post-secondary institutions who want to set up or operate a business there can apply for permanent residency.


• Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: Qualified foreign graduates from outside Canada who want to establish a business in Alberta can apply.


• Rural Entrepreneur Stream: Immigrant entrepreneurs from outside Canada can apply for permanent residency.

Candidates can choose the relevant stream based on their qualifications. After choosing the stream, a candidate must submit an application for their chosen stream and receive a provincial nomination from Alberta.

If a candidate receives a nomination from a province, then they must submit their application for permanent residency to Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Enhanced Streams: are aligned with the Express Entry System. Only the Alberta Express Entry streams are enhanced.

The candidate who shows an interest in immigrating to Alberta in the Express Entry system and who qualifies for the Express Entry score will receive a Nomination of Interest from the government of Alberta.

Base Streams are not aligned with the Express Entry System. Candidates who are interested in immigrating to Alberta must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the province’s AINP portal

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and qualify for the minimum score in the Alberta PNP Point calculator may receive a nomination from the government.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) issues Invitations to Apply (ITA) every month for eligible candidates. The date and draw of the next Alberta PNP draw are set on the basis of the needs of the AINP application inventory.

The expected date of the next draw prediction is around February 21, 2024, as Alberta conducts its draw every week of the month.
